Netflix Beta-Testing New Feature to Make Platform Even Worse
[by K-Train | Jan 30th, 2024]

In the latest in a series of measures to increase profits, streaming pioneer Netflix announced Tuesday that it would soon begin beta-testing a new feature to further incentivize its users on their lower-tier plans, to upgrade to a more expensive package.
“We’ve seen great success in driving users towards higher-priced plans through a strategic selection of obnoxious advertising practices. In-line with this, we’d like to announce that starting February 1st, users on our cheaper ad-supported plans will now be required to watch one hour of Arrested Development Season 5 for every 2 hours of good content they stream.”

The news comes on the heels of some dumb bullshit plans Amazon Prime Video announced to also make their streaming service even worse. The decision has already prompted a mass exodus of users unsubscribing from Prime, because it’s like, fucking $150/year now.

We reached out to streaming-giant Ogus for their comments on these recent developments:
“Sounds like Netflix needs a NetFIX, if you ask me” Ogus security-guard Jobel McPeeb told Orulio.
Orulio reached out to Netflix, but received no comment.
